These terms govern your use of MakeItHuman (makeithuman.io). By using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

MakeItHuman rewrites text you provide to make it read more naturally. Output quality varies with input. We make no guarantee that any output will achieve a particular result on any AI detection tool. We publish how we benchmark; detectors change constantly and behave differently from one another.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use MakeItHuman to:

violate any academic integrity policy, honor code, or institutional rule that applies to you — you are responsible for knowing and following the rules of your school or workplace;
misrepresent authorship where you have a legal or contractual duty of disclosure;
produce spam, deceptive content, or content that violates any law;
infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
probe, overload, or disrupt the service, or circumvent usage limits.

We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.

Your content

You retain all rights to the text you submit and the humanized output. You're responsible for the content you submit and how you use the output. We process your text solely to provide the service (see our Privacy Policy).

Accounts & billing

Free tier limits apply per day and may change.
Paid plans are billed by subscription through Stripe, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
If a payment fails or a subscription lapses, your account reverts to the free tier.

Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Changes to the service or terms

We may modify or discontinue features at any time. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the date above and notify account holders by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
